WEAR IN THE World? – New Exhibit Coming June 29th!

The museum is excited to announce our newest upcoming exhibition, “Wear in the World?”, opening on Saturday, June 29th at 10:00 am. “Wear in the World?” includes rarely seen clothing, textiles, hats, shoes, art, and dolls from the museum’s collections of international art and artifacts. Children can explore a textile marketplace while adults will appreciate the intricate designs and traditional styles from Nigeria, Iran, Indonesia, and western Europe. Children will enjoy various workshops throughout the summer featuring hands on weaving, designing, dyeing, and sewing.

**The Museum will be CLOSED Monday, June 17th – Thursday, June 28th due to construction of our new exhibit. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and we look forward to seeing you here on the 29th for our grand unveiling!**

“Sensory Friendly Mornings”

Thanks to our very kind donors, we are able to offer Sensory Friendly Mornings one Sunday morning per month, 10:00am – 12:00pm. Sensory Friendly Mornings are a time for families with children who have sensory sensitivities or are on the Autism Spectrum to visit the Museum for an experience catered to their needs. We’ll dim the lights, turn off our exhibit sounds, and provide sensory equipment as necessary (head phones, weighted vests, and fidget toys). We will also have a certified Special Education teacher on site to provide specialized programming and act as a resource for parents and caretakers. Please visit our website and social media for dates.
This program is free for families with children who have sensory sensitivities or are on the Autism Spectrum.
Thank you to our Anonymous Donor for sponsoring July’s Sensory Friendly Morning.
