The Museum's Capital Campaign will fund the purchase and renovation of a 12,000 square foot permanent home at 89 Warren St. in downtown Glens Falls to inspire children in the upstate region toward creativity and education in the arts.  Children will also learn about world culture and traditions through interactive activities inspired by the Museum’s prestigious collections of international youth art, clothing, musical instruments, and other educational artifacts. The uniqueness of WACM’s new home will enrich the region's cultural offerings and add to its growing revitalization with expanded tourism and jobs.
The building's first floor will be dedicated to entrance, exhibition space, and a Museum shop.  The Museum's collection of international youth art will combine with clothing, musical instruments, textiles, and dolls from around the world to provide full immersion into a foreign culture.
The second floor will house the Museum's international youth art collection and educational artifacts to be stored in temperature and humidity controlled areas.  Administrative offices and a conference room will complete the space.
Children will begin their journey at the ONE WORLD GALLERY featuring a large globe and display of children's art.  From there, children will experience the customs and traditions in the HOME & FAMILY LIFE gallery,  instruments to play in the WORLD MUSIC CENTER, clothing and costumes to wear at the WORLD FASHION gallery, and create their own production at the GLOBE THEATER with scenic backdrops.  MONEY MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND displays the Museum’s collection of international coins and the art of "buying" and "selling."  At the MARKETPLACE, children will discover food, farming, marketplaces and cooking.  At the end of their journey, children can draw their Museum experience at the EXPRESS YOURSELF STUDIO.
2,200 sq. ft. addition takes shape at 89 Warren Street
