The Mexican Celebrations: Día de los muertos Program introduces Day of the Dead, a significant Mexican celebration of ancestors, culture and heritage. The program offers an interactive introduction delving into Mexican culture, the history of the celebration and the types of events that are held to honor ancestors. Students have a hands-on opportunity to try on clothing and masks from the Museums collection, make their own Calavera mask and practice the Mexican art of paper cutting known as Papel picado.
