

The Celebrate Chinese New Year program introduces traditions and customs of the Chinese people as they bring in the New Year.
The program offers an interactive introduction using International children's art followed by hands-on opportunities for children to experience traditional clothing, authentic cultural objects and learn about Chinese customs of the celebration. As a closure, chldren will hold a traditional Chinese Dragon Parade!
An age appropriate program for:
Preschool - Grade 2: $80 for 60 minutes (up to 25 students)
Grades 3-5: $90 for 75 minutes (up to 25 students)
Programs scheduled on Saturday are $110
Program adjustments can be made to serve community organization and libraries.

The Mexican Celebrations: Día de los muertos program introduces Day of the Dead, a significant Mexican celebration of ancestors, culture and heritage.
The program offers an interactive introduction delving into Mexican culture, the history of the celebration and the types of events that are held to honor ancestors. Children have a hands-on opportunity to try on clothing and masks from the Museums collection, view International children's art and practice the Mexican art of paper cutting known as Papel picado.
An age appropriate program for:

The Welcome Home, Japan program invites children to learn about and compare traditional Japanese homes with homes from this area of the USA.
The program invites exploration using International children's art followed by an opportunity for children to view and examine authentic Japanese objects. As a closure, children create a Japanese craft.

The Great Grains: Corn, Rice and Wheat program explores the place of these three grains in world cultures.
The program invites exploration using International children's art showing images of how these grains are used worldwide followed by hands-on opportunities for children to weigh grains, set an international table and create a craft project.
